Vin Diesel has had quite a varied career in Hollywood and has enjoyed a lot of success with major movie roles over the last couple of decades.
Already sitting with some big hitting franchises under his belt in The Fast and The Furious, XXX and Guardians of the Galaxy, Diesel has now spoken to the people at MTV about taking on the role of Black Bolt in the Inhumans movie.
Here’s what he had to say:
I don’t do too much ’if it happens. Do you know what I mean?’… I don’t do too much ’if it happens,’ it’s more at what level it will happen… it’s not a matter of me wooing Marvel, it’s a matter of Marvel wooing me. And I love them, but I’m just saying, show me a dope script and show me a great director, all of which I know that Kevin [Feige] is capable of, because he dazzled me when he suggested Groot. That was, like, profound to me. I thought [Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy] was genius. I’m not doing anything just for work. I’m doing things that I can feel passionate about, and that I feel like I can contribute to.
So according to Diesel, the only thing keeping him from taking on the role of the Inhumans leader is an “dope” script and a “great” director, all of which are things that Marvel should have no issues with obtaining.
We have already seen Diesel taking on the role of Groot in another Marvel smash hit in which he plays an overgrown tree, where we get to hear his trademark, growling voice make use of only one line – “I am Groot”. If he does decide to take on the role of Black Bolt their wont be much more dialogue for him to be concerned about.
If you are not familiar with the character of Black Bolt, here is what I mean.
The son of two preeminent Inhumans, Black Bolt is exposed to the mutagenic Terrigen Mist while still an embryo, and eventually demonstrates the ability to manipulate electrons. To protect the Inhuman community from his devastating voice, Black Bolt is placed inside a sound-proof chamber and is tutored in the use of his powers. Reentering Inhuman society as a young man — having vowed never to speak — the character is attacked by his younger brother Maximus, who attempts, unsuccessfully, to goad him into speaking.

With a release date set for June of 2019 there is still plenty of time for all the pieces of this magnificent puzzle to come together.
