If you just read that headline above and went “Wait, what?!”, then you’ll be happy to know that you’re not alone in your incredulity. Not only did I also have no idea they were making a Knight Rider movie, I also have zero idea why they would want to. The original 1980’s Knight Rider TV series occupies a very fond place in my childhood, despite its now-apparent cheesiness (and of course David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff), but they’ve already tried to modernize the franchise twice before – late 90’s Team Knight Rider and 2008’s Knight Rider – and both efforts were kind of terrible.
But here we are apparently, as out of nowhere comes this teaser trailer for Knight Rider Heroes, which sees the return of The Hoff as Michael Knight, along with his iconic robot-voiced car KITT, and… well, I actually don’t know what else as the trailer – and even the official movie website that it links to – is very shy on details.

Ok then.
It has to be pointed out that a few years ago The Weinstein Company also started developing a feature film version of Knight Rider, but it’s not this movie as it appears to be got stuck in development hell. Just how far this version goes – or whether there’s actually anything more to it than just Michael Knight – is unclear right now.
