In what can only be the next installment in the Saw franchise Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey steps into the body of a koala who has plans to re-energize his theater by hosting an Idols-like competition. No, even Trevor couldn’t make that up after his usual shock therapy sessions.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn recently took to his soapbox about Hollywood copying movies in their attempts to make cash, and this movie looks like that to me. Why do I say that? Well Sing, which is being brought to you by Illumination (the same people responsible for Minions), looks like a karaoke version of The Secret Life of Pets which lands in July this year. I don’t know, maybe I am just being cynical, but having talking animals acting as humans just seems very done to me. But heck, if you like sexualized bunnies twerking on stage, this may be the thing for you. Have a watch if you dare:
Yup. I managed to steal 1:24 of your life, but hell, I’m ginger, it’s what I do. Sing does have a rather decent cast, but then again Zoolander 2 also had more cameos than you could shake a Blue Steel at. With the singing voices of Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly all we need now is Gareth Cliff to tell them how bad they all are.
Sing comes out on 21 December so I am sure there will be plenty of bored holiday children to entertain.
