With hardly having seen much of Tom Holland as Spider-Man yet in Marvels Captain American: Civil War, the studio and Sony Pictures are already busy with a Solo Spider-Man project. Joining the project is teen starlet Zendaya (“K.C. Undercover,” “Shake It Up,” “Dancing With the Stars”), in a lead female role. All we know about the character thus far is that her name will be Michelle. So no, not Gwen Stacy or Mary-Jane Watson.
According to Borys Kit from The Hollywood Reporter, the casting falls in line with the studios plan to add a diverse, multi-cultural cast to the movie. Aside from Holland and Zendaya, Marissa Tomei is also on board as Aunt May, with Jon Watts as director, and the script duties falling upon Vacation writers and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
The Spider-Man solo movie will be released in theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017, until then you can get you first glimpse of the web slinger when Civil War comes out later this year.
