Everybody Wants Some!! (yes, it officially has two exclamation points) is the upcoming R-rated comedy from writer/director Richard Linklater (Boyhood), which he’s described as a spiritual sequel to his 70’s-set 1993 classic Dazed and Confused.

The official plot synopsis is:

A group of college baseball players navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood.

Which doesn’t tell us much. So prepare yourself for some 80’s rock, 80’s hair, really short shorts, and take a look at the red band trailer that is mostly safe for work:

That’s the 80’s alright, I remember so much of what’s on display. I’m generally not a fan of the whole college frats/jocks thing when it comes to movies as I tend to find them more childishly annoying than endearing, but this one seems different – seems to have something more than just bros being bros and doing bro things. It seems… honest. And I’m surprised by that, and quite keen to see this once it’s released. What do you think?

Everybody Wants Some!! is due for release in the US on 1 April, 16 April in the UK, and locally on 3 June. It features an ensemble cast starring Will Brittain, Zoey Deutch, Ryan Guzman, Tyler Hoechlin, Blake Jenner, J. Quinton Johnson, Glen Powell, Wyatt Russell, Austin Amelio, Temple Baker, Tanner Kalina, Juston Street and Forrest Vickery.

And finally we’ve got three posters for you, and if the last one is anything to go by we’ve definitely got a great soundtrack heading our way.
