Morgan is the upcoming R-rated sci-fi thriller starring Kate Mara and Anya Taylor-Joy about secretive corporate generic research creating new life in a remote location, following which everyone lives happily ever after. Hah! No, that never happens.
The first trailer was a return to simpler times, when trailers were supposed to pique your interest and not just summaries of every major scene and plot point – let’s see what the second trailer holds.
In case you need a reminder, the official plot synopsis is as follows:
A corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.
This is what I was afraid of when I saw a second trailer had been released – too much being revealed! That said, what’s revealed still looks very cool and I’m hoping that there’s still plenty of twists and turns coming – and that Morgan isn’t as predictable as it (or she?) comes across now because this is still a movie I very much want to see.
What do you think?
Morgan is due for release in the US on 2 September. Directed by Luke Scott, it stars Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rose Leslie, Paul Giamatti, Boyd Holbrook and Toby Jones.
