Happy Woman’s Day for yesterday! I hope everyone had a great public holiday. Seeing as yesterday was all about celebrating women, I thought we’d dedicate this week’s Midweek Movie Mouth-off to our favourite heroines of the big and small screen.

There are so many fantastic female characters to look up to, but ultimately I think my favourite is Imperator Furiosa. Excellently portrayed by Charlize Theron, Mad Max: Fury Road really belonged to her character. It was all about her journey, her strength and her driving force, literally. Full disclosure, I absolutely loved Fury Road, but even the people that didn’t really enjoy the movie itself can’t deny her fascinating character. I could write an entire essay on why Furiosa is just the best ever, but instead I’ll just recommend you watch Fury Road to see what I mean.

Over to you. From Ripley of Alien fame to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or heck even the entire cast of the Ghostbusters remake, who is your favourite female character of all time?

Leslie Knope. Don’t know if any specific reasons are even necessary.

The Bride, Uma Thurman, in Kill Bill. I am not the biggest fan of hers, but I enjoyed the movies and how badass the Bride was with a katana.
