While I hadn’t ever read any of Lee Child’s books about his eponymous hulking ass-kicker, I rather enjoyed the first Jack Reacher movie once my brain started glossing over the fact that people in this world seemed to find human leprechaun Tom Cruise physically intimidating for some reason. But movie star pandering in the face of physical reality be damned, as writer/director Chris McQuarrie gave us two really solid hours of skop, skiet en donner action.
McQuarrie isn’t back behind the camera for upcoming sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, but Cruise is teaming up with his The Last Samurai director Edward Zwick. And if this new TV spot is any indication, then the pair seem to just be picking right up where the previous film’s action antics left off. Check it out below.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is co-written by Zwick with Richard Wenk (The Expendables 2, The Equalizer) and Marshall Herskovitz (Love & Other Drugs, The Last Samurai). It also stars Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh, Austin Hebert, Patrick Heusinger, Aldis Hodge, Robert Knepper and Holt McCallany. It is scheduled for release on October 21, 2016.
