What Thor was doing during CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Thor-downtime-1

Any way you look at it, either side in Captain America: Civil War was fairly balanced. Black Widow and Hawkeye knew each well enough to dance a dance of arrows and stun-shots. The Black Panther was an almost superhuman avatar of Wakanda who could easily give Captain America a run for his money. Ant-Man used a trump card (NOT THAT ONE) that almost leveled the playing field and Spider-Man gave the Winter Soldier a hard time.

Both sides came this close to almost sealing the deal on a win in that climatic airport battle. But imagine if Tony Stark or Steve Rogers had managed to secure a real heavyweight on their side. A heavyweight with dazzling blonde hair, a mighty hammer and an eloquent command of the thunder of our planet. Thor, I’m talking about Thor of course.

So where was the God of Thunder during the Civil War? Australia.

In case you can’t see the video above, that’s the one that was shown off at Hall H during San Diego Comic Con. A tongue in cheek look at where the Thunder God was during Captain America: Civil War, it showed off Chris Hemsworth’s character chilling in Australia and badgering his very polite roommate Darryl:

Teaching children about a “purple weirdo”:

Getting Darryl to craft him an electronic letter to best pals Tony Stark and Steve Rogers:

Thor-civil-war-4

Mjolnir’s cute little bed:

And uncovering the conspiracy behind the Infinity Stones and that purple guy who really doesn’t like standing up:

Thor-civil-war-1

Lovely stuff. If the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok includes moments of levity like that to help balance out the otherwise dour attitude that the Odinson had during Thor: The Dark World, then I’m properly game for what director Taika Waititi has in store for the third chapter of this franchise. Also, I really really want a little Mjolnir in a bed collectible for myself right now. Right next to my lil’ baby Groot potplant.
