The feature film adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events is one of my all time favourite movies and it is easily my favourite performance by Jim Carrey. So when I first heard that Netflix were making a spin-off series of the movie I became very excited and even more so when I found out that Neil Patrick Harris was cast as Olaf, as I can’t think of anyone better for the part. Now there haven’t been that many teasers coming out of from the production apart from a few set pics… until now. Netflix has finally released a trailer for the show, and a very meta one at that, giving us a little taste of what to expect.
In case you are not very familiar with the original book or movie here is a brief synopsis:
Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny — whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death.
Featuring Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, here is the trailer for Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events:
OK so as great as it is to get an official trailer, not too much is really given away, which is good but I was kind of hoping to see some of the cast in action bringing that awesome set to life. Regardless I am still pretty amped to see this and I think things are shaping up really nicely for the show.
