Remember The Ring? It was a horror-thriller film, with an easy plot. You watch a certain video tape, a raspy voice contacts you, and you wind up dead within a week, thanks to one demonic girl with water issues crawling out of your TV. Easy enough to understand for even the dullest of movie-watchers.
Christian Slater is back with a similar take on that classic film, this time in Playback. Except this time, the film wants the murders to be more convuloted than a fanboy-discussion on the hidden sub-texts of Inception.
Trailer after the jump.
It’s two minutes of absolute confusion, and debuts March 9th for American audiences. Directed by Michael Nickles, Playback stars Christian Slater, Ambyr Childers, Toby Hemingway, and Alessandra Torresani.

Well, that looks like the godawful pile of poo ever. The best bit (as in the most laughable) was when that laaitie saw something so horrifying, so brain-searing that it threw him right out of his chair.
I just watched that trailer, which was equally horrifying (for other reasons though) and it didn’t have that effect on me

I love how it said “…and Christian Slater”. That sounds eerily like “…and Steven Segal” in Executive Decision.

Though we won’t see Christian thrown out of a plane five minutes into this one I’d guess
