For a show about the fastest man alive, the Flash certainyl has taken its sweet time to race back to TV. You’ve already seen one massive five minute trailer that sets up Barry Allen as the crimson speedster. Well here’s a shorter and punchier glimpse at a hero who has some of the more dynamic super powers ever seen on the big or small screen.
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become …The Flash.
The Flash races onto TV on October 7th and stars Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, John Wesley Shipp and Carlos Valdes. Early reaction to the pilot has been quite positive, so expect possibly another winner from the folks who brought you Arrow.

Sold! We finally have the tech to make Flash look awesome.
Bonus points for whoever can remember watching the 90s TV series…

There was this one episode that saw the Flash square off against a mutated German Shephard, right? And it ended with the Flash rolling him up with fence. Right?

Damn, that sounds awesome… But I have no idea. The only thing I can remember is Flash disarming a grenade really quickly.

And him finishing off a plate of hors-d’oeuvres in a (wait for it….) flash!

For some reason I can remember the episode with the Trickster, like it was yesterday.
Oh and trivia: John Wesley Shipp, the actor from the original show, is playing Barry’s dad in this.

Can’t wait to watch this, though I don’t think it can steal my Arrow time just yet.
