One of the surprise hit films of last year, had to be the re-reboot of the infamous Planet of the Apes franchise, in which we watched a prequel that finally answered several questions, as to how apes with rather unhygienic hands got so damn smart in the first place.
With some great visual effects, actors and Andy Serkis going mental underneath a CGI effect (as usual), the film made some serious dollars at the box office, which of course meant that a sequel was inevitable.
Scott Z “Contagion” Burns is currently penning a script for the second film, which will see Serkis return to the motion capture studio. There are few other details available right now, but one certainty, is that we’ll get to see what the liberated apes from the first film did, in order to secure their spot as the dominant species on earth.
With Serkis locked in, director Rupert Wyatt is also looking likely to return to the monkey chair, when filming does begin.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first one so I’m intrigued about what the sequel will bring. Whether they’ll wipe out humanity straight away or leave that for the third part of the trilogy
