Let’s be honest, Woody Allen and John Turturro are not not exactly what you might call “sexy men”. Well that is unless you’re Darryn, but he’s weird. The point is that these are probably the least likeliest lotharios around, especially when the services of Turturro is being requested by Sharon Stone and Sofia Vergara for a steamy menage trois. And that’s a sentence I never thought I’d type.
What I will type more predictably though is that Fading Gigolo, the new comedy written/directed by Turturro and which sees Allen acting in the first movie he hasn’t also directed in more than a decade, seems like it could be quite the quirky and hilarious comedy.
Fioravante (John Turturro) decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend, Murray (Woody Allen). With Murray acting as his “manager”, the duo quickly finds themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money
As can be seen by the banner at the start of the trailer, Fading Gigolo will be making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival which kicks off in a couple of weeks time. There’s been no scheduled release date yet.

This looks like it could be a lot of fun. It’s also nice to see Allen in a role where you seems to really be enjoying himself.
